I currently got a CF-18 for free from my job. I would like to wipe it clean, since it has been previously used. I would also like to do a few upgrades to the laptop itself. I was wondering what would be a good first step to take in making changes to the laptop. I've seen a few people post about upgrading the OS to Windows 7. Is it possible to upgrade the device to Windows 10?

My trusty mk2 CF18 that I've had for some years runs Xp Pro and is fine. There are some software packages such as Google Earth that will not run on it as the graphics hardware is no longer supported, but it's a great system albeit older and showing it's age. I don't have any GPS in mine. The battery is a fairly new genuine one that gives me 2+ hrs if I am using my external USB 3G dongle to connect to wireless broadband, or if I'm using it with wi-fi the battery will last 3 to 4 hrs.

I am using dream spark to get all of my programs for free. Office 2013 is what we are currently using in our class. Any suggestions of HD and RAM upgrades?

Trying to run Office 2013 and Windows 7 on a Pentium M 1.2 with 1.5gb of ram and a IDE drive is going to be a wee bit slow, but have at it.
