I have two CF-18's I am working on that I think have dead motherboards. Neither will power up at all. No lights or beeps or all. I have tried to power them up with a good charged batter and original Panasonic charger that I use regularly. What are the common (if any) connections and motherboard failures with CF-18's? I have a spare board that is suppose to be good, but was told it has a bad battery port on it. So I can swap it out with one of the bad boards.

These are sensitive to certain types of RAM... did you try removing the extra RAM modules?
I had this problem with mine...the seller put ram in it and didn't test it... It wouldn't power up until i removed the extra ram. -
EDIT:
Swapped motherboard in one unit, now I have one working, (CF-18DDAZBMM) it's a digitizer motherboard in a non digitizer body. It seems to be working fine on battery, guess the battery port wasn't bad after all on it. Still working on the other one. -
Try to look on IC51 or 54 if I am not mistaken. Its been a long time since i troule shoot the same model. Look if there is a sign of burn and then replace it. It is near between the docking connector center of the Mbo.
