Since I am new I tried the search and could not find what I was looking for. I am trying to add the registry patch for my internal GPS but when I try to execute the gps_18_2_d030324.exe file it tells me "This machine does NOT support" and of course the OK button.

Any idea what is wrong? I have a CF-18DDAZAMM and I am trying to find out if the internal GPS is working or not. Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Bummer, I got the same message. I seen in the BIOS the GPS is enabled and from what I read on here if there is something wrong or it is not loaded correctly then you can not enable it (grayed out). I am hoping that is the case but again I was looking for a way to test it. I guess I better get some software.... anyone have recommendations for off road software packages? ;-)

Pm me and I'll give you my number...It's alot easier to walk you through it than to explain it. Oh and if your mouse isn't going crazy with the Gps enabled you do not need the registry patch anyway.Travis

Gork, you are correct and I did find that. I am going to wait until I get a way to test the GPS before I pursue this further.

Almstprfct1, I appreciate the offer and will take you up on you offer if I find out the GPS is not working.

    Thanks to all!

Check my edit. I'll see if I can find a useful link to GPSInfo.exe.

Select GPSInfo somewhere on the page.

    Topcop,
You need to see if Rob will put this in his archives. Makes it easier to find.

It's also on the US GlobalSAT web page >support>downloads(bottom of page).
    Lots of good stuff there.

I thought it was there and then didn't scroll down enough. I have 5 units now talking nicely with USAPhotomap. Which is a nice program in it's own right. I really like that Holux GPS I stole on ebray $21.00.
Gotta build a saddle and then mount the dock in the truck before fire season. Toying with locking a junker in there with the Holux. Hey CAP, you don't have a spare Mark 3 MB laying around do ya?

Nope, I've only got the one I bought when I got the CF-30 from Intechra. It really can't be told from new, so I'm going to tart it up and sell it. Like the old days, buy a CF-28 for $150, put in $200, sell it for $800. Rick used to get $1200+ for them. Anyway, some of the SBC units are going for under $100, I'm not sure what a good price for a motherboard would be.

Bummer, my GPS has yet to fix on any satellite. Any ideas what to check?

The GPS is on com port 3 and I have set it at 4800. I have waited and it does not get a fix on any satellite. I have changed baud rates and still nothing. Do these GPS' suck that bad? Clear sky sitting outside and nothing.

Sitting outside for how long? My CF-18 with stock internal GPS took about 35-40 minutes to get its first fix. They do suck, but Teo has a fix which I believe involves only an antenna.

Be advice; do not remove the main battery when you've got a first fixed. If you remove the battery it will be back again to zero at cold start coz the data was lost. Thats the problem on the module without a back up cmos battery. Don't you know that on cf-30 the gps engine used is as the same on cf-29 and cf-18. the only diference is that on cf-30 they added a cmos battery back up on gps engine.
