    My first post here and I'm kinda newbie for toughbooks so don't be too hard on me.

    Is the Windows XP SP3 responsible for this problem or can someone give me a good link for the drivers because the official site didn't work well for me.

    Welcome to the forum. Just to be sure , you have a CF-18 MK2 (D or E) then you download this driver sound_18_2_d040194.exe [0.39 mb]

    Thanks.

    Could you give me the link as a future reference?

    EDIT:I've installed the driver and the sound still doesn't work.

    It lists Sigma Tel Audio and other stuff so I seems that the dm shows it working(?),however sounds and audio devices says that there is no audio device.

    EDIT:I can't find any drivers for Windows XP SP3,does that cause problem with drivers because they were made for Windows XP SP2?

    That should not matter at all. I have both of mine upgraded to SP3. I would try plugging in some head phones in the back to see if they work. Something that happen to me before I got the restore disk was I had no sound but it was the Hotkey driver and the 2 Hotkey Applications programs that caused this. When you install them you must install them in the proper order (all drivers) . On the download page it tells you which order to install all the drivers.
    If I were you I would pick up a restore disk, this would install everything for you and you do not even need to put in your Windows COA numbers/letters.

    @toughasnails

    I know that it's been a long time, but could you post the correct order in which to install drivers?

    I cannot find it at downloads page.

    Hey, sorry for the late response, but I was installing drivers without any problem then I started to install OS INF file and it's been stuck on 30 % ( as of this moment).

    If it's still stuck at 30% cancel it and restart the 18 and try it again. That's what I do when it happens to me
