Hi all, new Toughbook user here.

I have acquired a CF-18KHH64BE which, as I understand it, were issued to British Telecom here in the UK. It's currently running WinXPSP3

Having spent some time browsing the forum (thanks very much to all the contributors!) I've managed to get everything working with the exception of the touchscreen which doesn't work with Ubuntu 13.10 run off a USB stick either so I'm guessing its dead. As I need the touchscreen for my intended use I think I'll get a replacement from the Chinese seller on Ebay.

The only thing I've not succeeded in finding is any connection manager software for the Siemens MC75 EDGE modem - it's working, I can query it from the properties in Device Manager, but I'm guessing there must be some software to manage connections? There seems to be some around for North American models but I haven't found anything specific to the Siemens modem.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Andy

    Andy,
I have Checknet MC75 and the wswitch_18_4_d050643 that came from Panasonic UK. I will upload to Dropbox and post the link in a bit.

Thanks very much for that. I've just installed Checknet and it seems to be working :) I'm off to find a PAYG SIM card to check it out properly now... Don't suppose I'll use the built-in modem much, be quicker to use tethering with my smartphone, good to have the option though.

andy did you just install checknet and it found your modem or did you have to fiddle elsewhere?

As I remember, Checknet just found the modem. I haven't tested it out properly as I've since done a reinstall of XP and so far just installed the drivers. It's is on one side at the moment, waiting for me to get around to replacing the touchscreen.
