    Hello guys

new here so please be patient. Just got this Mk4 CF-18KHH29BE, installed xp pro, downloaded and installed all drivers. Got pretty much everything working but the com port.

Anyone knows what driver do I need for the com port? In Bios set to auto also tried a few different tools, still no joy.

I am not an expert, so, if anyone can help I'll be in your debt forever.

PS. It is a touchscreen version indeed.

    Best regards

    Anyone?

Looking in device manager driver info looks like generic Microsoft driver installed..

Can anyone with a working com port (com1) have a look what driver should I install?

    Kind wishes

Here is mine for Com1, 2 and 3.
    C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\serenum.sys and serial.sys
Adding Holux GPS adds comm 6. ser2pl.sys is the change. Pl = hot-plug?????

Tomcat will be around in a bit. He 's worked on at least one CF-18 before. :)

    Gork! Thanks for your input!

Managed to get it working..but not on the tool I suppose to use..

It is a car diagnostic multiplexer that uses com2 :
    Bits per second: 115200
    Data bits: 8
    Parity: None
    Stop bits: 1
    Flow Control : None

Quite late in the UK now so I'll leave it for tomorrow.

    Kind regards

    Is it working now?
The 9 pin serial is com 1 @9600 baud ,if you need a higher rate you should change using advanced options in device manager
That port is a legacy type and no additional drivers are needed, windows has them built-in
I am not sure whats with your system if you are using a com 2

    Hi

    thanks for your reply!

Installed wlan drivers and port working now (confusing as you said no drivers needed)..with one device used just to prove port working . The tool I need it to work with still not working.

Also got a CF-29 that works fine with the diagnostic tool. Is a Mercedes cars and trucks diagnostic multiplexer that suppose to work on com2 with 115200 baud rate. Thing is I want to use cf-18 as it has swivel screen and more compact for this kind of work. Actually I have 3 CF-18's and a CF-29.

Testing tool works even on 115200 rate but Mercs MUX. Going to test another tool (a chip programer) and also going to swap caddys on another MK4.. may have luck with that one.

    Kind regards
