    Hi,

I have a CF-18 mk1 (B, digitizer) with two broken USB sockets*, and it seems to me that one reasonable way to repair this would be to replace the motherboard, as boards can be found on eBay for less than $200.

But while I'm doing this, would it also be possible to upgrade? With a Mk4 board I could have a slightly faster processor and install substantially more RAM. Are the CF-18 motherboards generally interchangeable?

*Wear and tear - not too bad for six years of almost constant use.

Cabinet differences between the mk1 and mk4 wont allow to swap mainboards, if i remember right, there are screw posts in different locations, heat pipe is different, etc.
