    Hi all

Apologies if this is a well-worn subject. I have a CF-18 (CF-18KHVCBEE) and need a standard keyboard, hard drive and part of the front locking latch assembly.

I've Googled the above with little or no success. I can only find illuminated, rubberised keyboards and no sign of the latch parts. Obviously the hard drive is standard and not a problem.

The top part of the latch (the "claw" that hooks over the top of the lid) has sheared off of the part fixed to the base.

I'm in the UK but happy to have parts shipped fomr the US etc

    Thanks for any help/hints

The latch might be available from one of our members here
Give it a few days, there are a few members that have cf-18 parts

The hard drive needed is a 2.5" IDE type ,If you have the caddy
Here is a link to the samsung drive
We also use WD 250gb ,and Hitachi 7200rpm 60-100 gb IDE drives
All can be found new if you look around

Thanks Alex, not sure why I couldn't find that - blind and/or stupid I guess

I have the caddy and hard drive cabling (the current drive has developed bad sectors) so that's (hopefully) the easy part!

Heartland also sells a clicky keyboard that's back-lite like the ones offered for the 29's and 30's. Cost was just over 100$ if I remember correctly.

I can't get used the rubber keyboards and usually swap them out for the standard type.

@RuggedSolutions; If you can get me a "clicky" backlit keyboard for a CF-18 for under $125 I'll take two!

Based on this for sale thread from a couple weeks ago, Universal Mania has the best retail price found so far for the emissive Panasonic CF-WKB193VM Keyboard at $209.45. Follow the above thread link for some store feedback.

(Unfortunately, the three emissive keyboards originally offered in that thread have long since sold.)

I had called and got a price from heartland a few months ago and they were under 200$. Ihave to order again next week and will get a price. I want one of those keyboards to in my 19. The rubber is just a real pain in the A$$.

Maybe a combined purchase to save the shipping costs?

I didn't jump on the ones here for $175, not worth it, but for around $100 I'll bite. The disease abates a bit with age :D
