I have a CF-18 that I installed XP (HOME) to...

I installed all the drivers from the MK1 package I got from the Panasonic site..

Everything seems to be working OK. I do have ACPI drivers that are outstanding, but I hope to install those soon.. :D

The big thing is the tablet screen isn't working. I installed the drivers for the WACOM Pen, but no luck. The stylus doesn't move the cursor..

I went into CONTROL PANEL and tried to set up the PEN TABLET Properties, but it says A SUPPORTED TABLET WAS NOT FOUND ON THIS SYSTEM..

I am thinking that I may put Win7 on this.. It's got 1.25 GIGs of RAM, but I am not sure the 900mhz CPU can handle Win7..

Any thoughts, hints or tips would be most appreciated...

Hi, What model is it exactly? can you post the full model number cf-18XXXXX?

There are 2 screens available for CF-18's, one is the digitizer which requires the pen and the other is the touch screen which does not require it. You may have the touch screen one which would explain the wacom drivers not working.

To see exactly what you have, use the Panasonic configurator located here: Configure Rugged Laptops - Official Panasonic Toughbook Rugged Computers

There is a tread here about this im sure you can find it by doing a search or going through the Read this first stickies.

    Thanx for the Reply...

As it turns out, I have two CF-18s...

The one I was asking about was a CF-18B. But I noticed that the other one I have is a CF-18D...

Where I found the MK1 drivers...

Panasonic CF-18 Drivers | Toughbook Central

... there is a section that explains specifically about the Touch Screen that I overlooked before...

I am following up on that as well as researching the CF-18D...

The B model I have is in a lot better shape cosmetically. But I am assuming the D version is a higher end model with better specs...

    Problem solved..

Using the guide in the afore mentioned link, I was able to install the touch screen properly..

    WOOT... :D :D

Note: The drivers listed in the afore link did NOT work.. But the MK2 driver packaged available in the link has MOUSE drivers that DID work..

Feel free to follow up if anyone has any problems.

    Michale

Additional Info.. The CF-18 I used was the 'D' model, but there are guides in that link for all versions of the CF-18
