    Hi Guys

I have just purchased a CF-18KHH68TE all was fine when I got it, but after 2 days the touchscreen stopped working properly.

I have reinstalled windows XP & all drivers in the order stated on this forum

The touchscreen does respond but the cursor is always at the hinge edge of the screen it does move left to right but will not move up or down

When I try to do a calibration & press enter to finish I get "error Dtm, Parameter Error, Please Input , Again

    Any ideas please

You, sir, either have a bad touchscreen or something is stuck between the touchscreen and bezel. You can use a slice out of a plastic soda bottle to try to fish out whatever MAY be there... If no joy... You have a bad TS...

I have a CF-18KHHZBBE and it has *exactly* the same problem as yours. I have tried to clean out between the screen and bezel with no joy. I know that I have the correct drivers etc. I reverted back to XP Pro SP2 thinking that it might have been SP3 causing the problem but all it does now is crash regularly. Good old Microsoft! I'm now contemplating taking the screen to bits to properly clean the edges of the touchscreen but will await other comments here first.

This specific problem appears to be too common to be a TS fault.

It is a well known issue with almost all CF-29s, Some CF-18s & 19s and the MK1 CF-30. Something about being exposed to heat and the touchscreen itself. I'm thinking partial delamination of the touchscreen.

It usually starts out as a sporadic issue, then with the cursor retreating to the lower right corner or right side and then.... Nothing at all. I have yet to hear about a way to fix this short of replacing the touchscreen unit.

I have noticed that in the discussions regarding the relative merits of touchscreen vs digitizer on the CF-18, the issue of reliability / durability has not been raised. Based on my limited experience with two CF-18N models, one a touchscreen and the other a digitizer and both exposed to near identical service conditions, the model with the touchscreen is starting to show occasional erratic cursor behavior while the digitizer model is functioning normally.
Does anyone have any experience with the dual function touchscreen/digitizer CF-19 ? Would premature touchscreen failure cripple the unit or would the presence of the digitizer mode override the problem ?

    Hi

I have had the touchscreen repaired & is now working, but the calibration keeps going of after about 10 - 15 mins of use. Do a recalibration & it fine for a bit but gradually drifts off.

    Can anyone help with this

    Many Thanks

Same with my CF-18 MK5. Run the calibration and about 10-20 minutes later it's off about 1-2 inches on the right side but on the left side it's ok
