hi! Guys, its a day off today. Anyway, I've changed the backlight(ccfl bulb) on one my cf-18 unit which has redish background as sign of retiring and after the job done, powered it up and I am suprise why it has now a greenish color backgound its like an incredible hulk color skin( Lol). Split again the LCD case to check it lummination and its fine white, take out the reflector layer and check also and its fine too but still the same effect.
This time I've changed the reflector layer with pure white background coz the existing one has a mirror finished but still the same effect.

My question is, why its display, dispaly(backgound) a greenish color?. All posible source of a green color that will reflect to the lcd was isolated. Anybody has an idea?

    Hey Teo,
Some lamps have different temperature colors like 5500k and 6500k depending on the coating.
Sounds like that one you have is around 4500k not enough blue.
I have ran into this before and found that I had to go into color setiings
and change gamma and RGB settings to make it right.
There was one unit that I could not null the colors correctly.
It was a lamp that that was not color temp specified.
Where did you get this lamp?

Chuck..Thanks, man! I didn't realized that. You've probably right, not enough illumination. I tried those adjustment but a little effect. i guess I'm gonna buy another one. Do you have any recommendation or seller That i can buy with exact type coz mostly the description is not clearly enough to what you are lookin for. I bought this on ebay and here the seller store "Market Processor Co"

I'm at the salt mine right now but I have somewhere on the home pc a link to where I bought some of my lamps.
It has been quite a while since I have done that so the name slips my mind at the moment.
I changed some out in some 28's with some ebay ones maybe from the same people you did 'dont remember' but I had bad luck with them.
Kinda P**ed me off as you know it'sa real PITA to change.
I know some others on here went thru this as well maybe they'l chime in with who they went with for good lamps.
Good luck with it... fun isnt it?

This is also not my first time to changed the backlight bulb I have done this to cf-28 and a couple of 29 and I've got no problem. The seller that I knew was no longer a register member on ebay that why I've tried this one and its a big dissapointment. I will try another seller again and ask them the specs of their bulb before i purchase again.

LOL - Yup - I was just gonna suggest Digi-Key. I've bought many CCFLs from them, always got what I ordered. Do yourself a favor - go through their catalog, find an assortment of resistors/semis/capacitors you may need to order along with so your shipping/handling is amortized over several projects. Also, be mindful they charge a service charge for any orders under $25 or $50.
