I'm guessing you didn't have the restore discs for this? Do you have a Wwan card in your machine or Gps?

The Panasonic configurator does not have that exact model, but I'd guess it has a wireless wide area network (WWAN) cell phone type card that is not standard. What country is this from? You might be able to find the right driver on the Japan Panasonic support site.

I think it''s unlikely to be a Gobi modem as they weren't available as a factory option until the CF-19 Mk3, at least in the US. It may be a Qualcomm modem. You'll probably have to pull the back off to find out exactly what it is.

If it is a Gobi modem and you are in the US, you may be able to use the Panasonic CSA for Gobi, though it's only designed to be used on CF-30 MK2 and up, CF-19 MK2 and up and other newer TB's.

Where did you find what Q stands for? What does A stand for?

CF-18s don't have pull up antennas, the WWAN antennas are in the wings on the display.

    Thanks for the info. :)

    I haven't yet seen the need, or had a desire, for an 18 or 19 (craving a CF-30, though ;) :D).

And back to toshor: are you sure of the Model Number?

What does it show up as when read from the BIOS (press F2 at first Panasonic bootup screen)?

I just remembered that A is for Australia. Remember the hundreds of CF-18DHB22KA's that flooded eBay last year.

That should mean that the WWAN will only work with whatever Australian service it is locked to.

Sorry about the time been busy and I am from Australia and I think thats what A stands for and the Q I found on the Panasonic configurator it was for a CF-19 it was the only thing that seemed to be close , I loaded that program that Tomcat57 it worked only for the internet but when I try to log off the laptop freezes ,when I go in to Device Manager then Unknown device and update driver and go through to Don’t search .I will choose the driver to install and go next then it says BCM5701 Gigabit Ethernet I loaded it but it was the wrong one . I think I need an Ethernet driver but the right one and thanks for all your help THANKS

I still think you need to remove the bottom cover and see what, if any, WWAN card is installed. Then you can also either replace or smoosh the thermal pads to make sure they are making good contact
