    Hello all,

i'm new in here - however i've had my CF-18KHH for about 5 years now.
Last week after power on I got the POST screen and the following message:
    Standard RAM Fail. (01-C0)

I removed the extra 512DDR chip but I believe it is straight forward that it is the built-in RAM on the mobo.

Is there a way to override the built-in memory and use it only with the extra chip?

I was thinkin of buying a replacement motherboard off ebay CF18DHB22KA (australia)

I think this is a Mk3 mobo - does anyone know if it will fit in my CF18Mk4 chassis? and if my bluetooth module/SD module/etc. etc. connectors will be the same from one generation to the other?!?

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you! :)

    Mad4 -

    Welcome to the Forum!

We've got a few people who've tried to disable onboard RAM with dismal results; you are I think the third person to post about this very failure with a CF-18. I fear the outlook is not good...

Those of you with firsthand experience of this failure, PLEASE chime in!

Hi - thank you for your reply.
I'm looking into finding a way to reflow and/or even change the RAM chips (BGA type) though I'm not sure whether that's possible.

The alternative would be to change the mobo - however I don't know if I can fit a Mk3 mobo into a Mk4 chassis. Don't want to get stuck with an extra mobo!!
    Does anybody know?

Hi! you can fit the mbo. from MK3 but you will loose the sd card reader. Reason; MK1 -MK3 has no slot for sd card reader only MK4 and above.
