just wondering what the expected runtime would be for a CF-18 with wifi enabled, veiwing a VNC session (no other apps and no user intervention) using wifi with the brightness cranked upto 11!![]()
basically just toying with the idea for a repeater in the boat - my CF-29 is just too bulky on deck for racing
Ive also read that the CF-18's have 2 different nit ratings, which model do i go for for the brightest display?

Maybe you should consider a wireless display CF-VDW07.
Waterproof, light, fairly bright and made to remote any Pany's display. -
It really depends on the battery.... This is really a subjective topic and depends on the machine and the age and type of the battery. They make three different types of battery for the CF-18.... The blue tab (small), yellow tab (med) and orange tab (lrg).... So it would be different depending on age of battery and type.
If you'd like an arbitrary answer... With a good yellow tabbed battery... 4 hours.
Turn off the keyboard and scale back a few things with the orange tab and you may get 5-6 hours.... a bad blue tab will give you anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. -
i did consider the wireless display, as its ideal, but one of those is twice the price of a CF-18!! and its harder to get batteries for the thing
The dispay isnt remoting my Toughbook, but a waterproof, sealed, passive 12v solid state PC i built the other year
I would be buying 1 or two brand new batteries for the device, 4h isnt too bad
now to convince skip that 300quid on a laptop is better than 500 on a black and white segment gps repeater!
CF-18 runtime, Full brightness
