Hello all, long time CF-28/29 owner, cleaning up a CF-18 for my niece to use while traveling abroad. Its a digitizer unit, mark 1. The screen protector on this unit seems to be a bit milky in spots, almost foggy so I think I'm going to need to end up replacing it, but I've had bad experiences with CF-28's before, I know Toughbook has this down to a science so I was hoping I could get some pointers before undertaking the task.

Also for other CF-18 owners, I was surprised that other Wacom tablet pens don't seem to work on it, why? What other pens might work? The pen is a bit small for the sort of use my niece will be doing with it.

Also, it does not seem very responsive to pressure compared to other Tablet PC's or art tablets, any comments?

    All your help is appreciated,
    Jay

I changed out the screen protector on the 28 I just sold on Ebay. I took the advice from Toughbook and bought a new screen cover from ScreenPatronus, also on Ebay.

Once I got it on, it was the best cover I'd ever seen. Factory quality.

When I put it on, I used a credit card and started on one end. I stuck the one end down (for me, on the left) and took the other end and bowed the cover like a U. I slowly lowered it while using the card to smooth it out. When I got a bubble, I backed up and did it again. I was able to get it on and I didn't have any bubbles. I just took my time.
