I don't remember if the bios shows the full size or if it has the 137GB limit
Even if you have the limit, you can still use ,as you partition C: to 120GB or so and install O/S there and use the rest for storage

I had a 320gb in my cf 50 partitioned as 3 smaller drives. Booted win xp and worked fine. I can't remember if I tried it as 1 drive or not. I always partition large drives into smaller ones. Now I have the 320gb sata in a adapter/caddy and use it as a 2nd drive in place of the dvd in my cf 51.

i'm in a hurry right now but ebay sells adapters to put sata hdd in place of dvd drive. I had xtra cf 51 optical drive caddy and put adapter in with sata inside. Must solder pins on adapter to force master. Panny no work unless master.
    More details and links later.

Yes you will, but not a single 320GB partition
If you load window on the disk to the whole 320GB and the bios detects it @ 137GB you risk data loss and blue screens
You must have a -137GB partition first that windows is loaded on

No BIOS limit on the CF-18 we installed 160GB with one partition so 320GB should be ok but it is recommended to break it up as Tomcat suggests.

Driller, it's in a buried thread somewhere regarding a 3rd party "Optical caddy" that's actually a caddy for a 2nd HDD, IDE/PATA, IIRC. Now... if only I know how to search better...

To the OP, I think it's good practice to partition a HDD, at least to facilitate faster defrag/scandisk. Can't remember if it speeds up HDD search though. Others may know better.
