It's strange that the answer is still not here.
Just rename this file
C:\PF\Panasonic\Hotkey Appendix\HKEYAPPV.dll
to something like HKEYAPPV_old.dll
and your sound (including mute control) will work forever![]()

I personally almost never use the hotkeys, but they are very important to others -
Of course they work
And you can always rename that file back if you need it. But you will not)
P.S. I think you'll have to restart after renaming -

What is Hotkey Appendix?
This applications shows the available hot keys for the device. A hot key is a combination of keys or a single key on a keyboard that, when pressed at one time, performs a task (such as starting an application, launching a web browser, etc.) more quickly than by using a mouse or stepping through a series of menu items. A hot key control is a window that enables the user to enter a combination of keystrokes to be used as a hot key.

I had this happen to me while working on a CF-29.
While getting ready to swap out a hard drive I used the hot keys to mute the sound.
It must have changed some setting in an eprom to totally disable sound because I was not
able to get sound from the unit until the hot key drivers and apps were loaded again so
I could then enable the sound again.

I have had a problem with a Linux program (actually two un-related problems) that were fixed by going to stand-by and return. (Close lid and re-open)
Whether it will fix your sound I know not.......it's just interesting.Shawn likes this.
