    Howdy all,

I have a CF-19 with the internal GPS (side wart) that I would like to put in a car docking station. Does anyone know if it is even possible to get an external GPS antennae hook up for the CF-19? As you can imagine slapping a GPS receiver up on the roof of my jeep would get me way better sat reception than the one integrated into the laptop :D

The research I have done on some docking stations only implies a WiFi and WWAN pass through.

    Thanks!

If you want GPS in the vehicle it would definitely be easier, probably cheaper, and most assuredly a better signal to just use a USB GPS like the BU-353. Turn off the internal GPS and plug it in the side.

Agree with Cap, use an external usb GPS in this case
Even if placed on the dash ,It would be an improvement over the built-in unit
    And
Get the gamber johnson mount as there are very nice
I have installed quite a few cf-18/19's in vehicles

Yes! you can, but it need a bit of a work. You can vacate the docking connector of the wi-fi on the unit by hooking it up the antena of the wi-fi directly on the card. Now! use one antena jumper wire from the docking connector to the gps antena by providing side by side or back to back u.fl connector. Then another jumper wire from the docking connector that goes to the gps receiver antena connector. Thats it! you have now an option to hook it up an antena outside your vehicle thru the docking station. Good luck!
