just started getting into my new CF-19 with the integrated GOBI option, I was looking through the on screen user manual but didn't see anything related to the GOBI option. Does anyone have any experience with it as far as configuration, I am planning to hook up through ATT, is a sim card required, can't really find a detailed explanation of how to get it set up...

If you don't have the CSA disc and it is not preinstalled, you will need download it from Panasonic. AT&T requires a sim card. The sim slot is in the back with the headphone/microphone jacks.

Thanks, I'll download it now

ALL CF-19's are pre set ready to take a SIM card. It's under the audio cover in the back of the unit.
There are special dip swtich settings needed depending on the mark which you can view here: Index of ./CF-19 Stuff/
Additionally, the CSA app will ONLY work with 32 bit software, NOT 64 bit. If you have to activate the card or change the carrier and it's installed in a 64 bit system, you have to swap the hard drive with a 32 bit system or switch the GOBI chip to a system which has 32 bit in order to run the CSA.
Hope this helps! -

How odd, the CSA app works on my 64 bit. Version should be 2.00.1100.01.0193.

I'd like to know where you got this from then, because the current software that Panny has on their site doesn't work with 64 bit man...
That same software I've put HERE: http://toughbooktalk.com/public_downloads/index.php?dir=CF-31 Stuff/&file=GOBI 2000 Software.zip - Maybe download it and compare mine to yours??
Thanks -

@Rob No problem...... I am out in the field right now. I will download it and check it out. I have the package saved on my network drive also and will compare the 2. I just double checked and opened it up again and it takes me through the selection process giving me the 3 choices with no problems, then launches the appropriate service provider when selected, mine being Verizon. Will get back to you on Thursday if that's OK.

no problem
Take your time.
Thanks! -

Hey Rob,
This is where I downloaded mine from:
Panasonic Mobile Computer Wireless Carrier Software
At the bottom of the selections you'll find:
*Carrier Selection Application v2.00.1100.01.0193 includes AT&T Connection Manager v7.02.0110.0, Sprint SmartView v2.28.0088.0 and Verizon VZAccess Manager v7.2.9.1(2470a).
Register and download the CSA Install Pack for Gobi and Gobi2000
This is the one I used and it works on my CF19 Mk IV 64 Bit Win 7 Ultimate system. I think, but not sure, I have it on Windows 8 CP........ I'll find out and let you know. -

That is the version I have installed on my CF-19 and CF-30. I've been using it for a year or more.

Yeah, this is what I have and have been using too (On my 31 when I had it, AND on my current model C1 & H1 too).
Thanks -

Ok...... Don't know why it works on my 64 Bit version, other than it is Win 7 Ultimate, which provides a little more network capability over Pro and Home. I installed everything very precisely according to install instructions because Win 7 Ult was not supported at the time, but now some support is provided.....
Still learning....... -

Just a follow up to a recent post. Went home last night and looked at my Windows 8 Consumer Preview and the CSA installed, but it does not run. I had to manually run the Verizon install to get it on Windows 8. That install holds the drivers for the GOBI 2000 module and it installed. As far as 8 goes, there are some glitches in some things that will hopefully be worked out on the RTM (Release to Manufacturer) versions. I contribute to the surveys so hopefully my input will be valued, being a part of the ToughBook community! What's nice overall about 8 is you can choose the regular Windows Desktop your used to, or move to the "Netbook" or "Tablet" view. This is nice for the 19 because it truly is a dual use computer, tablet and PC!!!! Anyway, hope you got the 64 Bit CSA up and running on your machine Rob!!!!!!

Good thing I don't have 64 bit on ANY of my computers...

These 64 bit machines I was referring to were all customer machines...
