Hey, I've had my CF-19 for a while, and it saddens me that I barely know anything about it. I've had a couple of problems for a few years, but I've pretty much been able to ignore them. I've never really had to use the GPS before, but now I feel like it. I've tried to download GPS programs in the past without much luck. I don't think it recognizes my GPS. It looks like it's looking for it on COM4, but can't find it. Does anyone have a link to a helpful guide or a thread in which someone was able to setup their internal GPS? Also a good program link would be awesome.

Stupid question, but is the GPS enabled in the Bios? The setting is a bit hidden (at least on my Mk2 model): Advanced -> Serial Port Settings, then GPS is the third from above. It must be set to Auto or Enable.
My GPS is on COM3. I use it with Garmin Mobile PC and Google Earth, both had no problem finding it. With Google Earth being free, you may want to try that.
Visual GPS is also free, it was the first program I used, just to check whether the GPS worked at all. I can see it spewing out NMEA data there. For all other purposes that software is too complex for me, though - I just want a map with a you-are-here-arrow. -

Welcome to the forum!
Make sure it's all set to COM3 @ 4800 BAUD... Some get the right port but want to default to 9600 or faster.... Your GPS won't like that.
Hope this helps! -

If you're looking for street navigation in the US, I highly recommend Iguidance (~$110) (I accidentally typed intellinav, i meant to say Iguidance). It has an almost superb interface, and the TTS reading the actual street name is awesome.
I didn't want to spend $100+, so I managed to get Sygic McGuider, and it does well enough. They don't actually sell it for the pc, so you'll have to search for "Sygic RC12". This is very much like what you would expect from a garmin or magellan for your car... -
It's all in what you plan on using it for... From what I hear... S&T is great with its trip planning features and POIs.... I prefer IGuidance at $90... It is VERY touchscreen friendly with large buttons you can use on the road... Instead of the small drop-down menus of S&T and others where they pretty much force you pull over to use.
Look around, ask questions, then pick! -

And, of course, mine with IGuidance!
