Has anybody here know what brand or model that the cf-19 toughbook LCD are using. I ask becoz I've purchased a unit with broken LCD and I am trying to find out online but no luck so far. I haven't yet receive the unit to verify the exact model. Just an aticipation so that I can make it to work as soon as posible.

Rick, Its broken screen and I am afraid also that the touchscreen itself was shattered based on the seller's e-mail. I guess I'm gonna sell it parts by parts. I bought it $300 shipping included. Its a complete unit and working with AC adaptor too.

Those of you who already own a CF-19 might be able to find out the LCD info without opening the system.

There's this system info software I use called ASTRA: http://www.sysinfolab.com/

It's a bootable floppy or CD image (demo version is free), and one of the things it can do is "ask" the monitor to give it's identifier strings. You wouldn't think that would work on a laptop, but it's worked for me in the past.

In general, it's a pretty good tool for getting your PC to identify all of its hardware. You can also use a Linux live-CD for the same purpose, and type "lshw" at the command prompt. I would recommend Ubuntu 8.04, in which case it's "sudo lshw" to get it to run as root.

I should create a thread specific to this topic...

I tired the windows version and that is some good software. It does not tell me what LCD it is just says generic. I dont have a floppy but later i will try the dos version on a thumb drive and see if it works.

I tried it too, to look for the digitizer in my 18. Either it isn't there, or astra32 can't find it.
