I'm currently running Arch Linux + LXDE on my CF-19 MK1. Today, while switching to a TTY prompt (Ctrl + F6), I noticed it was only switching periodically. After some tinkering, I came to the following conclusions:
My left Shift key and my only Ctrl key are the culprits. If I hold left+shift and try to hit the following keys: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, +, O, or P, no characters show up. Now, if I hit left+shift plus one of those keys, really fast, it works. Same with the Ctrl key, if I hold it + Alt and hit F2, F4, F6, or F7 it doesn't work, unless I tap them really fast.
Now the tricky part. If I use the right+shift key, I have no problems AT ALL. I confirmed it wasn't my OS by putting a different drive in with LUBUNTU installed, and the same things happened.
Could this be my keyboard dying, or something else I should look at?

Check cap lock and num lock. I know.... too simple.
Then: pull battery and power and cycle switch a few times...THEN plug in power..no battery and set to defaults in bios. ACPI could be scrambled.
If that doesn't work un-plug re-plug KB ....straight ! maybe clean with an eraser and canned air.
What doesCode:dmesg | grep Panasonic
Good luck,

Well pulling the battery, power cycling, and resetting the bios seemed to do the trick!
FWIW, dmesg out was:
[ 9.721566] input: Panasonic Laptop Support as /devices/virtual/input/input6
Between here and the Arch community, I can always find help. Probably the 2 best communities I've seen. Thank you. -
In the words of me friend Rob.....W00t!
Just making sure laptop support was there.
Good show Wes. -
I've got faith this little guy will last me a long time.
How'd that drive turn out? Did it work?
