Yup! you can swap it over but you also need to swap the control button. the pcb board for it with touchpad connection. It is a long pcb board at the buttom that control also the power switch. If you have ts and the unit also a ts, no need to swap the LCD. They are compatible, anyway the CF-19 digitizer can be converted to ts as long as you have the right LCD harness and you must taken off the digitizer board. Also on CF-19Mk1 control pcb board mention above is that it has a sensor attached to it while on cf-19MK2 has none but by doing to swap it also you've got no problem.

For your info. too, the cf-19 mk3 base can also be use but remember that MK3 base board has an slight different on the palmrest cover which is cut near the corner. I think finally the panasonic designer got an attention into it coz most of the the damged that I have seen in the past either CF-18 and cf-19 has a cracked or plastic chip off on that corner.

Thanks for the info, I'm back at the weekend and would like to start the job then, does anyone have any step by step or even a PDF page they can direct me to or send me, when I do a job like this I look at the factory manual as there is always a hidden screw or clip somewhere

    Thanks

Help, I have to 2 lappys here, my all black Mk1 works CF-19 and the new to me cheap standard Mk2 CF-19. I have not attempted the job as yet as on the pages 9-1 & 9-9 of the CF-19 service book it says:

    Attention:
    • Please execute writing BIOS ID when you exchange the
    Main Board.
    • Parts (Sheet and rubber) etc. related various the Conductive
Cloth and Heat Spreader cannot be recycled. Use new parts

Can some one please tell me what the Conductive cloth is, where does it go, what does it do, where do I get it. I assume Heat spreader is just thermal paste

    Thanks

The Mk3 has a slightly different screen housing, at the bottom where the hinge is, the Mk1 & Mk2 on both sides of the hinge is flat on the Mk3 its like, here's some pics, Mk2 on the left Mk3 on the right

Not just only the buttom part. The panel layout is different from MK1 to MK2. It means you can't swap the LID cover to MK1 nor to MK2 and also MK3 uses an LED backlight not ccfl tube anymore.
