CF-19FGHAXAM, fresh Vista install from original Panasonic restore disk for the CF-19 Mk2, with all Vista updates. Touchscreen was disconnected when I got it, ribbon cable removed from connector under the top cover. Put it back in, and running normal Ctrl-F7 diagnostic at startup says Touchscreen is ok, but running advanced diagnostic on touchsreen fails because I can't mover the cursor to the test box. Cursor will move some once Windows starts by pressing on the touchscreen, but interferes with touchpad movement and is erractic. I can't calibrate it either. I measured resistance on the ribbon cable traces, between 1&3 and 2&4, and I get about 3.5 ohms, but I'm also getting low resistance between1&4, 2&3, about 5.5 ohms. My understanding is that resistance there ought to be close to infinity. There was no screen protector present when I got the CF-19, and there is one pretty big gouge in the touchscreen. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I tried cleaning between the bezel and touchscreen and got some crud out, but it made no difference. The computer is pretty clean in general, and hasn't been abused too much. About 4050 hours on it.
Sounds like I've got a bad touchscreen, but I want to confirm here with some experts. If I do need a new one, is DFWV84A0308 still the current part number for the kit? Is anyone besides Heartland likely to carry them? Any current guesses on a price?
Thanks.

Yep bad touch screen. On CF-29 the resistance is about 600 ohms for horizontal and ~200 ohms vertical. Likely the gouge has shorted out the touch wires.

Thanks. It is was I suspected.
