Hello,
I have both laptops, Mk3 (Centrino) and Mk4 (I5) running Windows 10 with same apps, same battery performance profile.
I've noticed that Mk3 can squeeze 3 hours out of battery, whilst Mk4 battery life is almost two times shorter.
I have three batteries in total and I tested all those with identical results.
I understand that older i5 processors are more power hungry.
Is there anything I can do to Mk4 to make it more power efficient?
I tried to use lower screen brightness, deactivate network adapters that aren't in use but it makes no difference overall.
Thank you

There are software tools for Windows to analyze and find power consumption problems. I'm sure there is a big improvement potential on both your machines. It's not an "older i5" problem.

I would first check to see how good the batteries are. Go to Start / Panasonic / PC information viewer. Click on the battery tab. This should tell you how good the battery is like what % is left in the battery, how many times the battery was charged. Post back what it says on all the batteries. You should also run the calibration tool on the batteries. That can be also found in the Panasonic folder. That will take anywhere from six to eight hours depending on how good your batteries are.

If Windows 10 has battery check then use that too. I’ve done it on Win7

Hello, thank you very much for your suggestions.
I did calibration for all three batteries before I have made this post, PC information viewer shows like Total Charge Index: 7 for latest battery I re-calibrated. I guess re-calibration resets this count or I have new battery?
Remaining capacity: 57910mWh
Voltage: 12483mV
Can you please kindly suggest software to analyse and detect power consumption problems?
What I noticed is that Mk4 laptop becomes really hot (hotter than Mk3 one) although in power settings I checked Active cooling system: on.
I might be missing something really obvious there I guess. -
I'm sure in case when "laptop becomes really hot" your best friend is Windows Task manager.
