CF-19 Mk5 Win 7 x86 update BSOD

My CF-19 Mk5, with Windows 7 x86 suffered a BSOD with recent update KB4093118. Anyone else seen this? I was able to recover by entering Safe Mode and deleting the update. I then hid it in Windows update. I've seen other issues online with this update, but not this particular issue.

FWIW, a Dell D630 suffered low resolution with this update, and then black screens and reboots itself later in the startup cycle, and this repeats over and over. Had to delete this update also on that computer. So if you run into issues after a Windows update, look for that particular KB.

Improvements and fixes

This security update includes improvements and fixes that were a part of update KB4088881 (released March 23, 2018) and addresses the following issues:

• Addresses an issue where a new Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) that has default settings may replace the previously existing NIC, causing network issues

• Addresses an access violation on certain pages in Internet Explorer when it renders SVGs under high load.
• Addresses an issue that, in some instances, prevents Internet Explorer from identifying custom controls.
• Addresses a stop error that occurred when the previous month’s update was applied to a 32-bit (x86) computer with a Physical Address Extension (PAE) mode disabled.
• Security updates to Internet Explorer, Microsoft scripting engine, Microsoft graphics component, Windows Server, Windows datacenter networking, Windows virtualization and kernel, and Windows app platform and frameworks.

Known issues in this update

A Windows update that buggers the computer? Say it ain't so.

 

The BSOD was related to one of the Intel graphics driver files, and I notice that the update updated some Windows graphic files. Since the D630 also suffered graphics issues prior to it crashing, I suspect that part of the update is the cause.

 

Yeah M/S does create problems at times, I'm in Group B at the present time on all my machines running W7 and the W10 machine is pretty locked down right now.
