    Hello,

Apologies if this has been covered before, I have searched but with no luck.

Can anyone tell me whether the BIOS in a Mk6 CF-19 is stored in a conventional EEPROM chip, and if so, whereabouts on the system board I would find the chip? Also, if there is such a chip is it located where it would be possible to dump the EEPROM in situ using a test clip, rather than desoldering it?

Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook forum.

Wish I could help you but I don't have a service manual in front of me. Unless you are setup to do something like this I would send it into Heartland Services to have it done...about $300.00 .

Thanks for the fast response :) Unfortunately I'm based in the UK (should have said in my original post!), so sending to Heartland Services would be a very expensive option. Would prefer to undertake the BIOS dump myself if possible.

Thanks! You're a star! - just to confirm, this is the right location for the Mk6? - filename suggests a Mk3, but I guess it's probably the same for both?

Yes! I believed it has the same location. Just remember the eeprom has always a dot mark. Either RED, Blue and etc on top of the chip.
