In terms of usability, is the standard keyboard better for typing on than the emissive keyboard?
The keys look a fair bit smaller, and I have no idea what the tactile feel is of these keys compared to a standard laptop, which isn't all that great to begin with.
My assumption from looking at the emissive keyboard is it probably feels like a large version of the physical keyboards you found on phones before touch screen smart phones became the norm; In other words potentially curved metal domes that have an audible and tactile click, as opposed to rubber domes with a material acting as a spring to return the key up on the standard; Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Not that I'm considering it, but I assume the rubber backlit keyboard is the absolute worst and probably isn't intended for more than entering a few letters or digits into an application, as opposed to writing an email or document on it.

I prefer the backlit. If for no other reason than the keys have a bit more space between them.
I feel of the clicks of the backlit seem to be a little more "positive". -
I'm mainly concerned about being able to use this to take notes, I'll probably be running an external USB keyboard when possible. -
I never measured the throw. I would guess about 15 to 20 feet when I am angry.
Wasn't that an event at the county fair last year?
I will try to measure them tonight.toughasnails likes this. -
Backlit kb is the best because it's backlit
)
But it's the only non-waterproof keyboard. A couple of water and you only have the on-screen one)

yep ...
the tactile feedback from a "normal" keyboard is better than that of an elastomeric type .
one of the issues of difference is the *feel* of the stroke between the points of initial start of depressing the/a key and the "bottoming out" .
there is a sudden "break over" from resistance at the start to "free travel" before the bottom .
i liken it to a trigger on a rifle that has high pull force .
