I am working on CF-19 mk 4 and 5, and found some bad touchscreen (touch no working properly), I could swap between each other and they will work, but the mk4 touch is darker than mk5. Does anyone know if those touchscreens can be fixed. pd. I tryed swaping the first layer with a heat gun but didn't work.

Do you mean touch or Digitizer? The screen you can see on the digitizer is just a cover, no wires or circut boards in the front. It has a big green board behind the screen inside the lid. Touch screen does have layers infront of the screen, with circut board next to it.

What is the full model number of the Mk4 and Mk5.

I meant touchscreen, this goes connected to small board behind the screen. Can it be fixed somehow?

    touch requires finger
A true digitizer requires the proper stylus. The stylus with a button on the side is the correct one.

Issue of one darker than the other...
Both are led backlight. So either the brightness on one is set lower than the other or it has a tinted screen protector on it.

It is possible one, "the brighter one" does not have a screen protector.

Using fingernail along the edge see if you can feel the screen protector layer.

hey guys, thanks for replaying! both of them have protector. If you take the touch panel off and compare them, you will notice the mk4 one is darker than mk5, is not the protector. the touch panel by has a glass layer and another plastic, I think it works as a sensor (no the protector one), and I tried swapping them but is pretty hard to do it.

How many hours are on these 19's. You can find this in the bios

FYI...we looked up your model number and both the MK4 and MK5 are Touchscreens and not digitizers

Panasonic definitely installs newer touchscreen panels since MK5. Much softer to press, no need to use nails or stylus. But they are compatible AFAIR.

I think I am a little bit confuse with this concept. panasonic Cf 19 Touchscreen does not have digitizer unit? because they both use stylus pen. now, I know digitizer use stylus and touchscreen does not need it. so, how can I get this idea clear.

MK4 unit is compatible with mk5, but is darker anyways...even if I remove the protector.

Yes Panasonic does have a digitizer screen. You can not use a stylus pen from a touchscreen. It will not work at all and also your finger will not work. As Shawn said above you need a special pen with a button on it. Also the hole that holds the pen is smaller on the touchscreen. I will see if I can find you one

    Here is a digitizer pen

    https://m.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Panasoni...412393?hash=item284f9d7a69:g:nHoAAOSwPGpac15b
    And a touchscreen pen

    https://m.ebay.com/itm/Stylus-Pen-C...180269&hash=item362c2cd4ad:g:iugAAOSwJIlaiN5r

If you look at this 19 you will notice how big the hole is for the stylus. This is for the digitizer pen. The touchscreen hole is a lot smaller

Many member and eBay sellers get confused between the two. A few years ago I bought a 19 MK3 that was list as not working Touchscreens for $50.00 shipped. When I got it I realized it wasn't a touch but a digitizer. It was a fully working A1 shape with only 1200 hours with GPS. I still have this now.

It was MK2 or lower ;)
MK3's and up are either touchscreen or dual touch, but not Wacom digitizer only.

I have some stylus pen like those, but I think the longer one is used for cf-30-31-52-53 series as well, the small one with button is for dual touch, and with no button is with for single touch. am I right?

when we set in BIOS the option for touchscreen mode, it means we do not need stylus? or why is this option available?

Yes dual touchscreen and digitizer screen just like my 19-MK5

Yes it is used for all Toughbook touchscreens. Will not work with any digitizer panels.

No. This option AFAIK is for some OS's only. For example, WinXP needs touchscreen mode. Newer OS's - tablet (auto). I think it's about drivers.
