Hello all !
First sorry if my english is not perfect![]()
I'm experiencing a problem to make my wireless lan works...
My toughbook is a CF-19C I don't know the model of wireless card if there is one in it.
I've done the dignostic test and all test are passed.
After I installed the wlan driver, intel PROset tell me that driver is not installed...
There's no trace of network adapter in device manager...
I'm looking for the solution for 2 days but i've found nothing...
Thanks for your help !

If this possible that this model has not wifi lan ?
What's mean exactly Wireless "WAN" ? -
You have a model which is not listed in the Panasonic Configurator. I can't tell if you have a WiFi card or not, but I can tell that your machine was custom built for a corporate or government user. First look in the bios (press F2 during boot) and if you can find any reference to wireless lan be sure to enable it. Do you have any yellow question mark like symbols showing in device manager? Did you install the Intel ProSet app or was it already installed? Uninstall the ProSet and look for a missing driver(yellow query in device manager). Someone will chime in, but its not that big a deal to remove the bottom cover (use GOOD screwdrivers) and take a look. Welcome to the forum. WAN refers to wireless networking through a cellular connection, WLAN refers to home networks or WiFi hotspots and the like.

Thanks for your respond. I bought this one on ebay. It's a centrino duo.
In the bios there's no trace of WLAN only bluetooth and WWAN...
I reinstall windows xp from scratch, so i follow the PDF procedure for all the drivers...
On the device mgmt console, i have only 2*data interface*inknown device and a USB device (i think it's bluetooth because it disappear when i disable bluetooth in bios)... -
Its probably time to open up the bottom panel and take a look. Its very simple, but I don't have a CF-19 so I'm not sure of any potential pitfalls like not disconnecting the speaker wire on the CF-18. Maybe someone familiar with the CF-19 will offer some advice, Rob? Alex?

there's nothing to it. just take the screws out around the edge, and you might have to pry the piece off away from the seal, but there's nothing to disconnect (at least not on mine anyways).
by the way if it is a govt model, good luck getting wireless through the pci slot. i still never got mine to work -
is the Bios that comes with Govt models that makes the wireless mini Pci cards non functional?
can the Bios be flashed with a version from a non Govt model? -
if you have to go the same route as me (trying to add internal wlan to a federal model) then here's the link to my previous post about it.

i still haven't figured my issue out and got stuck with using a crappy pcmcia belkin card.
there's also a website (can't remember off the top of my head) with service manuals to take it apart -
Hello, good news I open the bottom and I found this...
So it could only be a driver issue ? But if it was the case, i should see an unknown device in device mgmt but nothing. -
So go back to a system restore point and try to install the Realtek
(Or restart the computer and press F8 while booting, to go into the safe mode and look for all installed devices in ur hardwaremanager and delete the wlan-devices.) -
Hello, good news. I remove the realtek wlan card from the panasonic. Next, I took the intel wlan card (3945ABG i think) from my dell xps 1710 and install it on the panasonic.
I boot the laptop and bingo, an new device detected (network adapter). I dl the driver from dell website and make a driver update on the device, and thank you my god it works...
The curious thing is that i put the realtek wlan card in my dell under windows 7 and the card was detected and immediately installed.
Thank you for telling me to open the laptop it was the best idea
