Hello ALL, I hope your all OK seing as the world is a bit sideways at mo.
Need help please, I have here a hard drive that I need to put in one of my CF-19's, this harddrive is pre-loaded with software with generic drivers for w7, I done know if the CF will boot with these drivers, the OS (w7) and the software was loaded with this drive plugged into main comp as an external drive,
I can do the same, I can external drive it, I have the CF drivers but where do they live, where do I put them, I heard some of you experts have loaded the drivers before fitting the hard drive or when using that drive in another Toughbook
Thanks

I had a main boot drive in one machine. Lets say a CF31(i don't actually recall)I ran the driver install pack on the 31 for the let's say 19. Then I pulled the drive and put it in the 19.
It worked.safn1949 likes this. -

It will boot with generic drivers. Copy the driver pack for your model into the root of C:
It will make life easier. -
Yes it booted with the generic drivers, sorry for the dumb question, why copy the driver into the root of C:

If you can't access the internet and the USB driver is not loaded you have the driver pack already on the local disk.
