    Sorry the old thread is locked and all the pictures are dead.

    I assume the ribbon just simply plugs in here:

    Ah of course. If it was a dog it would have bit me! I was looking at the back and inside the chassis. Never occured to me to look at the front of the thing :p

    If I recall, the clear plastic thingy goes beside the cable at the connector.

    Yeah so as far as I could tell the clear plastic has a little bit of black "tape" like a loop for the ribbon cable to go through. Stop it getting caught on the battery going in and out.
    But whoever used it first time seems to have applied the black loop on the wrong side so I couldn't pass the ribbon through. I just covered the whole lot with a piece of tape. Should be fine.

    OK had to go to Panasonic to grab the fingerprint driver but it's all working now.

    Came with a nifty little software called Protector Suite too.
