I've been given a non working CF-19. The OS was corrupt (XP) and just kept loading to a BSOD. I've just installed a fresh install of Win7 Pro. Everything seems to work okay apart from the wifi. I believe some models don't have wifi so I just wondered if this is why it isn't working :) The model is CF-19ADN47DE. If I go to the network troubleshooter it tells me to insert a SIM. This is whats suggesting to me that it doesn't have wifi card installed. It works fine connected to my LAN

    Thanks.

Did you look in Device Manager to see if it's picking the networking stuff up?

Can we get a picture of the main bios page? If not, how about the bios and ec number from main page.

It is entirely possible no wireless card is installed. From your model number this is a "special" bios. The cables could be there with no wireless card.

    Screwdriver time. :D

Also look to see if the wifi switch is on, having made that mistake myself.

I took the bottom plate off and took a look inside. I saw it was fitted with a WWAN board and not a WLAN board. I took a WLAN card out of an old ASUS laptop and swapped it for the WWAN card. It took me a while to sort out the drivers but I now have WIFI and I'm now typing this on the laptop connected to my home wifi. Only thing that doesn't work is the little led to tell me the wifi it turned on.

    Result - Thanks folks :)

That explains the query for a sim card. Which was weird :confused:for a WLAN.

Good show and welcome to the madhouse. :)
