    CF-19 mk1 touchscreen problems

    Hello everyone, i am currently holding a Cf-19CHG55TL toughbook with windows XP sp3 installed on it.

    2 problems:

    1. The cursor when the touchscreen driver is enabled is acting weird, locks to a certain position and refuses to follow the mouse or touchpad as it will return to that position. It acts the same during touch input and the cursor will free up only when the touchpad driver is disabled. I managed to uninstall every driver except the SATA controller's and the behaviour of the touch panel changed when the device was enabled as the cursor free'd up and now followed my finger/pen albeit severely uncalibrated. This problem returned as i started installing drivers again (presumably wrong, more on that later) and goes away when i change something driver related (not always).

    I have an mk4 with win7 on it that had the same issue, i fixed it completely by removing all drivers, applying windows updates and reinstalling drivers in the correct order as instructed by the panasonic pdf. Its how i know this cannot be hardware related.


    2. The drivers on the panasonic site are there on the .jp domain, however the instructions are a complete mess. There is no procedural order to them, which, im afraid might be the cause of the problem with the touchscreen as the drivers might be getting installed wrongly. I would like to know what workarounds are available to me because of this shortcoming. I am aware of the recovery disk, but i am interested in installing the drivers correctly in the current OS.

    I recall being puzzled by similar instructions for some models. I guess if you pay attention to the dependencies in the far right Notice column, you should be ok. I generally like to install the most essential and/or troublesome drivers first, like chipset, cpu, disk, video, then sound, wifi, and the Panasonic Common Components.
