    CF-19: Getting GPS/WWAN working in Linux?

    Has anyone gotten the GPS and WWAN (it's a Gobi 2000, oh well) working in Linux? I could always tether to my phone, so the WWAN is the less important of the two, but I really want to get that GPS working.

    I did get raw NMEA sentences from /dev/ttyS2 when I tried the SolydX distro.

    I dumped SolydX, which I run on all of my other computers, in favor of Xubuntu. I like SolydX, but there's not really any community support or thorough documentation, which is fine when not using such specialized hardware. Xubuntu is just Ubuntu without the flashy interface, so plenty of support, and better documented.

    Anyway, I haven't gotten any data from the GPS since switching, but I haven't dug too deep yet. So after all the blah-blahing I come back around to, has anyone gotten the GPS, and maybe WWAN, working under any Linux distro? If so, can you give me any tips or point me toward any resources?

    ps, since it's still a fresh install and I've yet to invest much time in tweaking, I'm not opposed to switching to another Linux.

    I have Gobi 2000 working with a Giffgaff SIM under kubuntu 20.04 on a CF-30, and the GPS is no issue either (there is a bit of faffing around to do, but nothing major).
    I've found that Windows 10 no longer supports Gobi 2000 (at least, not that I have found since an update about a year ago) but tbh I am getting back into linux anyway and loving it.

    Any Windows apps I need to use seem to be supported under Wine with no issues.
