Newbie here with a CF-19CDGCAVM from the 'bay. It was wiped/reloaded with Win XP Tablet by the seller.

The only issue I have with it is that the screen does not automatically rotate when flipped from laptop to tablet mode or vice versa. I've played with the rotation tool settings (currently, laptop mode is set to "Primary Landscape" and tablet mode is set to "Primary Portrait"). The screen can be manually rotated via the rotation option of the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator tray icon and the front panel button. There are no unknown devices in the device manager, although I did have to reinstall the bluetooth driver in order to get the bluetooth manager working. Everything else (usb, SD reader, PC card slot, GPS, etc.) seems to be working fine.

I've read where there's a particular sequence for installing drivers in order for everything to work properly, but since it's just this one function (which I admit to not even knowing about until reading here that it doesn't work with Windows 7), I thought maybe I could try to reinstall the one device/reload the one driver (if there is one that handles the auto rotation). Don't have the recovery CDs, so a nuke & reload is not an option at this time. I do have the driver DVD.

Apologies if this has already been covered in another thread - I searched, but didn't find any threads that described this exact situation.

    Thanks,
    Dwayne

I've never done a CF-19, but on the CF-18 it is uber critical to load the drivers in a specific order when you are not using a restore disk. There are 2 hot key drivers and when you are first loading you get 2 yellow queries in device manager. If you load the drivers in the wrong order, both notices disappear when you load the first one and you lose the option to load the second one. You can only fix by wiping and starting again.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Guess I'll hold off until I get a set of recovery CDs before trying anything drastic.
