    Hi,

    I purchase a CF-19 mk6 Windows7pro but when I try to update to W8.1, my recovery Cd W8.1 doesn't work :(
Windows says "No valid windows installation disc can be detected"
but it works on my 2rd PC (CF19-mk7)
    Have you any ideas, why?

    Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook Forum

Please post the full model number of both CF-19's . Sounds to me that your recovery disk is for a MK7 and you can't use it on a MK6. The DVD should tell which 19 it is for.

    CF19 Mk6: CF-191DYAX1M
    CF19 Mk7: CF-195DAC7DA

My problem is when I boot on DVD drive with mk6, it seems not detected the media.
After boot override on DVD drive, I have the message "Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" whereas it's Ok on Mk7 (recovery session)

    Thanks toughasnails

What type of DVD drive are you using?..
Non Panasonic ones are not always read by CF19's
I tried 3 or 4 different drives before I ended up buying a real Panasonic external DVD.

Same problem I had to...is the external DVD player 1 line or 2 line. The 2 line one was a "hit or miss" for me

No, It's LG one. But with this drive on mk7, I can. I'll try with another player.
