As some one here know i will receive soon a CF19 MK1 (CF-19CHBAXBM) with a lot of optionals (wwan wifi bt gps touch 4gb 500gb)
I have here a 128gb ssd hd samsung 470 series ready for an upgrade and, after to ask here, the idea is to do a clean install.

The question is simple, which OS is fully supported by the overwritten hardware ?

    win xp / win 7 ?
    64 bit is possible ?

the use will be gps navigation / ozi explorer / compegps software
    internet / email via wwan
    ballistic software with BT connection
    office

The easiest would XP from a Panasonic restore disc. Everything will be installed and working. Then you would need all the XP updates.

Win7 is possible but, not supported by Panasonic. There are no Mk1 specific drivers. Search, there is a thread about installing Win7.

64 bit is not worth the effort, IMHO.

Yes do a fresh install. Do you have the restore disk with this 19 ? "XP Pro". It will run W7 32 bit and there is a thread on this too. In my sig there is a link to a great site that deals with ssd. My CF-30 loads W7 Ult in 27-32 seconds....sweet :D after following there step by step guide.

One question, i am discussing here in the forum the advantage of a clean install instead off the clone/restore method.
(i will receive a cf19 and i want to exchange the present hdd with an ssd disk)

I think something in the os installation will take care for the ssd needing (garbage collection / trim support etc). My question here is, in the case of a restore disk the os will recognize a ssd disk ? (i think a restore disk for a cf19 mk1 could be older then first ssd and couldn't have ssd "support")

I installed a SSD in my CF-30 MK1 about 6 months ago with the restore disk and never had a problem at all (W7 now) My guess your 19 is about as old as my 30 so I can't see you having any problems .
