Ok, I have 2 zero hour Mk1's, I updated the bios on the other but this one gives me the " will not run on this unit" error. Not a huge deal but I would like to get to the Vista bios. I have read a lot of post here and so on but found no definitive answers.![]()

Are they both the same model as in 19D or is one a 19C ?
-
One is a 19C, Shawn and I are plotting to flash the bios in dos. Need to get the right tool to try it.
Got the 19C flashed, no problem. -

The following thread says a CF19D was federal only with NO wireless.

Yep,it was just missing the card, has a 5100 in it now. So far nothing seems to work, I just emailed you a copy of the upgraded 19C bios and the original 19D. I tried using phlash and it will not work, winphlash will not work either. It's just a challenge now to see if we can figure it out.

I would check the DOS files used for upgrade what exact model they support to flash.
BU19M1.exe -mlist
If your model is not there maybe you can use the -m parameter of BU19M1.exe to change the model from D to C. I am not sure about the exact format of the command but I see it listed in the optional parameters.
Also you can use the -d parameter which ignores everything and just flashes the BIOS file. If you know you have the correct file you can try it. It will ignore battery/AC charger/CRC error in case of modded BIOS/etc and proceed with flashing.
Last resort if the above are not working for you, use a flash programmer and dump the C model BIOS and flash it on the D model.
Hope it helps... -
The bios readme file says it is for both d and c.
I Sent the info to safn to change model number. That would be my first try.
Then go with the d to force it.
He sold the power supply and is waiting on a replacement.
I Think the flash is being prevent because that cf19 was a federal model. -
I'm going to try it tomorrow, busy tonight installing SSD in a 30 and calibrating a battery. Grabbed 2 power supplies from storage so thats a go.

Ok, how do I extract the BU19M1.exe from the bios update. My brain just locked up.
-
use 7zip

That's what my therapist says about me....
I think he's lying.
Paranoid and depressed? who me?... -
wb191v16.exe is the file and it doesn't work, there is no BU19M1.exe
-
huh?
They make computers for technology challenged people.
You need me to send you one?
It's a white Macbook.... -
you have mail...
-
Why yes I do. And the winner is...XP. BU19Mk1.exe give the error " for CF-19Mk1 only". EU19Mk1.exe gives the error "cannot find file". For the $57 it cost me I will put XP on it and say the heck with it.
Or Linux but it has GPS and that's another entire can of worms. Hey Jeff, want a now 10 hour 19Mk1?

/me sits back eating popcorn ...

I sent a email with a probable solution.
If it works, I will post it here. -
Take one of the files from the links below. BU19M1.exe is inside.

Change the model first and than flash with -d -
what is the -d switch?
-
Send it on down with some pepper bacon. -
On the way....
-
I use it always with modded files because otherwise I cannot do it except using the direct programmer on the chip itself. -
sooo ... "-d" = the "oh hell" mode .
as in , "oh hell , i'm pooched now" .
/me needs to take a closer look at this stuff .
