    Hello,

I'm from France and I love the Panasonic's CF series. I will try to use "good" English in my explanations ... but keep cool ... I'm French ...

My first is a CF-18 MK3 that I'm using to tune my Megasquirted rallye car + car diagnostic.
I've noticed losses of touchscreen calibration with heat (sun, use ...) since 1 month. With recalibrations all is ok and fine during 2 hours at less.
Because I've read some posts on it, I think that my touchscreen is dieing slowly ... isn't it ? An expert explanation can help me.

The second is a CF19 MK3 - 2GB RAM ; just buy the last week without battery and HDD, I will receive 4gb RAM to upgrade + battery and HDD at the end of this week.
My question is : where can I find screws for bottom cover (button hex or hex socket head cap screws) because OEM screws are not very reusable ?
I've found button hex socket cap or hex socket head cap screws in stainless or black oxide alloy steel but the head with hex socket is bigger than OEM screws ; is there someone that use this kind of screws ?
+ I don't found the lock washers and plate washers that have a little outside diameter to put under the button hex socket head cap screws ... Do you use some ?

    Thank's.

    Kind regards, Julien.

I have lots of stainless socket hex screws for CF-18 case bottoms and bags of flat and lock washers. I'm guessing the CF-19 is not so different. Are you looking for a complete set?

I kept up with megasquirt 1 when it first came out because I wanted to do a custom setup for one of my mustangs, I know they have updated the system some. What version are you using? How do you like it?

On your CF-18 the Mk3 up seem to have problems so it maybe very well that your touchscreen is slowly going out.

The Mk3 CF-19 is a very good unit, I have one myself. You will like the big boost in speed and LED screen. I put a SSD in mine to help boost speed. If you have the budget for it, it is worth the upgrade.

I have problems before stripping out screw heads on all the 18/19's I have had over the years. I always used a good screwdriver and pressed down hard while working on them, the CF-M34 uses the same set up on it's bottom. As long as the length, Diameter and thread count is the same they should work. Instead of a hex head, maybe a torx head will work better for you. They have a lot better grip.

    Hi CAP,

    Thank's for your answer.
I've just compared both CF-18 and CF-19 bottom cover and there's no difference between screws (only different places on bottom cover).
The reason why I'm searching screws+lock+flat washer is because I'm very meticulous person. I want to keep CF-19 in good condition. As I will open the CF-19 to upgrade the RAM, I'm sure to have little hurt on OEM screws and I must be sure to find replacing screws for one's more reusable for future mod's.
I've found on the Bay M2 kit button hex cap or hex cap stainless ; lock washers and flat washers ... my question was to be sure about replacement fitting.

Do you have 2 or 3 complete sets ?

    Hi ADOR,

    Thank's too.
    I'm using a MSII PCB3.0 with 3.3.1 firmware since 2007.
Look at this : Rallyeman d'un jour VRP 8 mars 2014 - YouTube - it's an on board video...
Here a link of my not updated site ... lol : H.R.T. - Hilaire Racing Team

I will take a look on Torx screws :)

    Kind regards.

    Hi all

    All received ... all installed without ... the OS. I can't and I don't know why !! ??

I use WinSetupFromUSB to do Window's XP SP2 Familly CD => USB stick including Windows+S-ATA HDD DRIVERS

    Some explanations :
    1 - Boot option priorities : 1 USB Hard Disk ; 2 HDD ... in Aption BIOS
2 - Boot on USB stick to install XP SP2 + S-ATA HDD DRIVERS f6fd_8_5_0_1032_d081084.exe unzip directly on USB stick
    3 - Execute installation instructions
    4 - Press F6
5 - Windows had not found your HDD : Press S ; ENTRY or F3 to quit
    6 - I press S : and than I have :

Windows doesn't find the floppy to download the OEM driver : Press ESC to cancel ; F3 to quit ...

Is there a mean to go on USB stick to use the S-ATA HDD DRIVERS ?

    If I don't press F6 to install S-ATA HDD DRIVERS, I have a error : *** STOP: 0x0000007B ( 0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x0000000, 0x00000000)

    ANY IDEA IS GOOD !

    Thanks. Kind regards. Julien

You need to slipstream the SATA drivers into the XP installation..

    ...... link.............

Once you have the SATA drivers sliostreamed into the XP install image, I am sure you could transfer that to your USB stick instead of using a CD.

    Hello Shawn, ADOR and Capt.

RAM are changed 3.2Gb recognize on 4Gb all is right ... Stainless hex socket cap screws + lock + flat washers ... Good style ...

    OS : Installation done !

I've used Nlite to integrate S-ATA HDD DRIVER after unzip them in a folder and create an ISO of XP S2 + SATA DRIVERS.

No need to press F6 and during the mod's XP installation : no trouble ... HDD recognized.

I've installed all drivers in the order given by the instructions for installations for XP SP2...
All is ok ... but I've noticed one f*****g pixel died ... It's not a real issue but ... I know there's one pixel dead ...

Now I will use the CF-19 to car diagnostic and tune my MS2.

Thanks for all. Kind regards. Julien

The pitch is not specified, CF-18 & 19 use .4 which is considered coarse in that size.
