Ok, after several weeks of nightmares, I have a working GOBI-2000 (cell data, T-Mobile, and GPS functions) installed in my CF-19MK1.

Laptop is a touch model, with 4 GB RAM, a PNY XLR8 120 GB SSD, and a RBLKB.

Running Windoze XP Pro 32 bit.

Install was an upgrade from a Novatel Expidite EU-870D (which was an adventure in itself).

I installed the GOBI-2000 driver for Alienware (see link at the end of the article) and the OneClick Internet connection Manager v1.9 (see link at the end of the article).

    DIP switch setting was:
    1-OFF
    2-ON
    3-ON
    4-OFF
HSDPA on the chart printed on the WWAN carrier board.

Driver install was straight forward, as was the connection manager.

The wireless switch even controls the modem

The GPS was found, and using the free version of VisualGPS View shows a HDOP of 1.0 or less reliably, indoors.

Installed the modem, then driver, then connection manager.

Mine just happened to be a Dell model modem.

Your mileage may vary, subject to terms and conditions, blah blah blah.
