First post here
Bought a CF-20 as a treat as the CF-52 was getting old.
My main use for it is connecting to fire alarm Panels. A lot of the panels use a dos based software.
I have installed dosbox and am able to use the serial port to connect to the panel. This set up is working fine on the cf-52.
On the cf-20 I can not find the serial port on device Manager.
In bios I can’t see it either. Spent 2 hours on to tech support and they couldn’t help.
Anyone got any suggestions
Serial port is on the keyboard base
Thanks

What does the manual say? -I just checked...manual is useless.
What OS?Last edited: Mar 25, 2018 -
Drivers listed on Panasonic.com are for USB serial port.
So check under USB in device manager. -
Read up on USB-Serial.
Find the right driver for the CF-20 and it (USB-Serial) will show up in device manager. I don't know what OS you are using but found this.
A sample here: https://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/search?q=serial&button=&dc[]=002001&p1=218&p2=2180582&oc=001038&lang=
keyword: PL2303
EDIT: A note from CF-20 Panasonic FAQ......
Which integrated options require the tall bottom panel? If the Toughbook 20 is equipped with the optional serial port, second USB or Magstripe reader (all on the tablet portion), it will require a tall bottom panel. ENDEDIT
Good luck and let us know....also welcome to the madhouse.Last edited: Mar 25, 2018
