Bit of a gamble, Ive just bagged this:

    front1.PNG

it's on it way to me, Its not working, looks like a dog has had a go at it, the alloy back is smashed in one corner, the screen is intact, Im hoping as its a toughbook its survived what ever its been through

I did notice later when I used my Mk 1 CF-20 that this one has different camera/s on the front, is this a Mk2, if it is does it used the same battery as the Mk1 and will fit in the Mk1 keyboard anyone know?

    Thanks

Its mk2 because it's using 7th Gen intel core i5, the Mk1 (my personal one) is 6th generation. Beside the new microsoft hello compatible camera and newer gen cpu, i think most of other changes are minor, hopefully you got a 16gb ram model. The one you bought had a pretty rough life and spare parts are not easy to get (at least not cheaply), i don't know if you will break even on that one(versus getting a mk2 in good condition).

I have several 19's with breaks and chunks missing from them. Unless it got wet it should still be good. Hope it works out for you. I still haven't tried out the newer tablet toughbooks as I like to have the physical keyboard with it, not just a detachable one.

    Its arrived, its definitely a Mk2 , CF-20EP52-TE

it'll power up with charger connected but blank/black screen, I plugged in HDMI external screen and it works. you can use the touchscreen to select icons so the mother board, and internals are OK

Ive pulled it apart to make sure its all connected inside and it is, in the daylight you can see parts of the screen are darker so I think the screen might be no good, I could use it with HDMI and USB mouse and keyboard, I dont know yet

The battery looks brand new, I fully charged in my other CF-20 (Mk1) it took a full charge, with both batteries in its stating a run time of 11 hours

even if the screen is no good I got another good battery, ssd, modem and other parts

To get it up and running, its going to cost me:

    IO COVER HOLDER - ......................$1.56
    IO COVER ASS''Y (CF-20) -.............. $10.88
FULL PANEL BACK COVER -.......... $112.77
    MAGNET - ..........................................$2.36
    LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY - ...........$498.94
    ...........................................................$626.51

what do you think, Ive had a look and cant buy a Mk2 for that + I can use the keyboard and the 5 batteries Ive got from my Mk1

Anyone got any specs on this from model number?

    Thanks

When you install the IO cover for hdmi do not tighten the screws more than absolutely necessary. the plastic is very thin and brittle around the screws and it will break in two parts.
I need to replace mine. Where did you order yours?

Also i wish you good luck with the screen. I tried disassembling my CF-20 MK1 (for fun) and it is one of the hardest Toughbook to tear apart.

I ordered the parts from heartlandsi, I managed to get them USPS'ed to an address in the US as a guy there had some other parts I needed, he sent his parts and the parts for my Mk1 CF-20 all together via USPS to here at $60 as apposed to the $131 I got quoted from heartlandsi just for the mouse rubbers, as they only use Fedex

Ive manged to strip the Mk2, got the motherboard out, just need to remove the main frame from the back of the screen now and its all apart, heartlandsi tell me this digitizer screen, ive got one of those on one of my 19's and dont really use it

Its all nearly apart, I'll stick it aside then decide what to do with it

Can you take pictures of both sides of the motherboard? I am curious about the ram chips, thanks!
