now that something else I have to sort out and I dont think that'll be easy
unfortunately just like everything else in this world quality is going down the pan,

Different types of abuse, not a quality problem.
 -

Yeah... But run over it with a bulldozer and it will still work!

(But may not look pretty.) -

That bottom mouse rubber pic looks like it was burnt.

Anyone know where I can get new rubber, I emailed Panasonic twice but no reply

You can get parts from Heartlandsi which is now owned by Panasonic. Shipping is not cheap because they use next-day FedEx unless you can talk them into sending by USPS. Click the link below to send a message. Let us know how you make out.

Parts very very cheap, 3 parts:
rubber/s
switch/s
palmrest
less than $20
postage/shipping quote, they only ship with Fedex.................... $131
what a joke, they cant need the business, Im sure they'd do a lot more business if they used USPS for international post.
I had that parts sent to another company in the US that ive ordered a couple more parts from, not relating to laptops, I think with the laptop parts and the other parts Ive ordered the USPS postage/shipping price should be about $70
It'll be good business for one of you guys, get the orders in put a few $$'s on re-label, ship them out at a reasonable rate via USPS
next question is, does anyone have keyboard teardown guide for replacing these?
Thanks -

Do they allow local pickup?
Do we have someone nearby their 2 locations that could pick them up, and charge a more reasonable rate? -
Where are you located? Might be better to contact Panasonic Business Europe directly for parts if you're in Europe.
Or make a ticket here: toughbook.custhelp.comLast edited: May 24, 2021Liteace likes this. -

I sent them 3 emails asking for help / parts and didnt get a reply, I can say they are useless
 -
I had a great experience opening a ticket for my G1 to have it's display bezel replaced (delamination issue), they sent a courier out to collect it and I got it back within three days.Liteace likes this.

Thin rubber, natural oil / acid / from skin must be dissolving the rubber, my 19's dont have this problem Have you fitted it yet, if so any pointers?
Thanks -

Will get those parts by the end of next week. Heartland states a new palmrest sheet is needed every time you change rubbers. It's interesting, I will check that

Thanks, is it OK, as you are the toughbook expert, to wait until youve done yours before I attempt mine
 -

@Liteace, you definitely don't need anything except of new rubbers and a hair dryer to change rubbers

I've lifted the center of palmrest only. It's easier than a same process on CF-19.
I'm delighted with CF-20 overall. Panasonic managed to install sooo many useful ports into this machine. Thinking of adding CF-20 to my mobile PC collection where FZ-M1 now dominates

Thanks, Im still a bit lost, do I attack it from the inside, removing the base or just peel it open from the outside?
Thanks -

Outside. Heat up, lift a little, push old rubbers out, push new rubbers in. There is 2-sided tape, try not to damage it so you don't have to remove the palmrest.Liteace likes this.

CF-20, not happy
