I got Toughbook CFD-27 Mark I without touchscreen. When I opened I notice the speaker is not positioned near the ram as in MkII, but instead it's in the front near the handle, but then I also noticed that the cable is not connected and it's also too short to connect anywhere! It's 2-pin connector which I found 2 on the circuit board... the other one in the other side is power so it should be the only available one.
In the picture you can see it, I noticed connector on the circuit board but is it the right connection? Anyway the cable is far too short that I could plug it to there at all!!! Should I just cut the wires and solder longers instead?

CF27user,
Part of that case is off a MK3 that is why the speaker cable is to short.
You will have to cut it and add wire to it. Apart from that the toughbook should be working.
the modem connecton on the back may not be working as far as I can rember the modem frided by lightting when it was in my friends mk3.
My friend got me to swap the parts around (the bit that has the speaker in it) so his screen would stay cloesed. -
And thank you again
