Ok so i have a old CF-72 which is laying around not being used. Its non touch screen and i am interested in getting a touch screen CF-27 or 28.

Think i should stay with the 72 or what?

I am looking for opinions and so on, ideas etc, pros, cons.

    Thanks

Well, what do you want to do with the laptop? Is a touchscreen important to you?

Eventual plans are to have GPS in it.

I want to use the laptop in very remote locations. I will need long battery life (if possible), GPS, the backlit keyboard, etc etc.

But after looking at the prices of used CF-28s the prices are pretty high.

I have a CF-27 for $99 i am looking at but would prefer the CF-28 or just use the CF-70 i have laying at home.

Anyone know of stuff/mods i can do with the CF-70?

Is the CF-27 (touchscreen model) any good?

They are alright, but I would prefer a 28. What is your budget?

Watch what you buy in a 27. They came in PII 300 and PIII 500. The PII 300s are painfully slow.
Bone up and do the 29 800 mhz. You can do so much more with it and will not become antiquated so fast as the PII 300 27's already are.
Wifi GPS mapping, it all takes some reasonable horsepower.

rayford booth, the cf-72 can't run the illuminated keyboard and is only business rugged-no compairison to the full rugged 27-28-29. i think you can get better batt life from full rugged books because the 72 has a small main batt but all mentioned can run mp 2nd batt-hope this helps

If you found a CF-30 for $1500, point me in the direction...

That guy either stole it, or doesn't have a clue what it's worth!

Oh, and if you're looking for something complete, I've got two CF-28's for sale that I need to get rid of.

Both have a wireless card, GPS board and module (brand new 408), CD drive, all port covers, 13" touchscreens, rubber backlit keyboards and brand new green tab (6600mAh) batteries. (ie; complete). They don't have GPS antennas though, because I never got around to it.

I want $450 for the 600MHz, and $550 for the 800MHz. PM me if you are interested.

Edit; Adding photo to comply with forum rules... The open one on top is the 800 for sale, under that is the 600 (The ethernet panel is sitting next to my keyboard, it's not missing), and under that is the 800 I'm keeping. Oh, and the weird stuff around the trackpad is all glare... damn camera.

If you have $1500, buy that thing and sell it on eBay.

You'll make an easy $1500, probably more.

I think you email him with that link on that page.

Then you make arrangements from there.

BEWARE!!! THIS IS A KNOWN SCAM!!! Do NOT order from this site/person and then some back and complain that you got ripped off!

The exact ads are plastered all over the net. When I was looking into CF-30s I ran across this ad posted on 6-7 different sites. Same EXACT wording... All asking slightly different amounts.

    Do NOT order!
