I have a minty CF-27 with the backlit keyboard but it's only the PII 300MHz model.
I found a nice 500MHz model but it has the regular white keyboard.
Do they all have the provisions for the backlit keyboard or no?

Yes it should swap out as your two wire rubber backlite keyboard is universally compatable with all cf-28's and cf-29's

Really? Wow, sweet! I got this laptop for $16... the keyboard is in NEW condition. Might just sell it then haha

Actually... back when I had my CF-28 600MHz I had the black rubber backlit keyboard. I bought a CF-28 1GHz that had the plastic white keyboard and went to install it... but there was no hookup for the backlit portion.
So are you sure all the CF-27's have the connections? -
Only the 2 wire type common on the cf-27's
I have 2 for sale here that will work on cf-27's /28s/29s

You must have the type that has a third power wire
