I've just become the owner of a CF-28 and am getting it back into running condition. I've jury-rigged a ac adapter to charge and power it up using paper clips. I had an old IBM power supply that is the correct voltage and amperage but has the wrong plug.

Does anybody know the part number of the plug so I can change it?

    Thanks in advance,
    tom

Other than buying another power supply, I'm not sure you're going to have much luck. You might see if Radio shack has something suitable.

I had a similar problem with mine, it didn't come with one. I picked one up from Office Depot for $80. It was one of those combo power adapters that had multiple changeable tips to fit almost any laptop. It works great and I have had zero problems with it.

If Radio Shack doesn't have the connector - and I expect that they will - try the electrical department of a
hardware store, many have the same multiple drawers of parts setup that Radio Shack uses.

It is a very common connector and there is no reason to buy a supply if you already have one.

*WATCH* the center pin polarity when you wire it! I don't know if the CF-28 has reverse polarity protection.

Your best bet is to spend the $25 for a OEM Panasonic on ebay!

    Just my two cents...

I'll agree. You can get the proper adapter for very little (I've seen some used ones go for less than $20, just gotta keep an eye out). I also got an adapter for my car which has proven itself useful.

If you no longer have the IBM laptop, sell the power adapter on eBay and get most of the money for the Panasonic adapter back.
