    I have been reading it these forums trying to find info on the emissive keyboard for the CF-28. I have a cf-28 1ghz that I bought an emissive keyboard for. It originally had a rubber backlit keyboard on it and I understand you cannot do a straight swap. (I figured that out from this forum, wish I would have come here first :mad: ) My question is to the users here, does anyone know where I can get the parts required to make it work. I understand there may be a daughterboard and some wiring. I know it was an option for this model so I am assuming the parts can be had to install this option for a customer. I am willing to rip apart the machine, although I don't really want to. I did read somewhere here that it is a daughterboard/inverter with a couple wires. If there is no solution, someone want to buy an emissive keayboard?

    Sounds like the part that you are looking for is the inverter for the KB.

    Heartlandsi may be the best place to check for the part. Toughbook or one of the other major posters may be able to get you a part number. Also check with the people at the yahoo toughbooks group. There is a good bit of overlap in members, but someone there may be able to help as well.

    <removed part no. - oops - the LCD inverter - sorry>

    Thanks for the quick replies. I have posted to the yahoo forum too with not much luck. No replies so far. I will try hartlandsi for the keyboard inverter.

    Try http://www.heartlandsi.com/

    You'll need to call them, tho I think you will need to have a part number before the call, from what others have said.

    Try and call them anyway, last time I did for a part, I didn't need the part number. I might have gotten lucky, though. You can also send 'toughbook' or 'TBTech' a pm with your question and they will get back to you ASATC (as soon as they can).

    You don't need the number because they'll find the most updated one but it helps as a jumping point.
