I just couldn't figure out why you went through all the trouble to hog out the case when you still cannot eliminate the OEM antenna on the side to get a good signal.

Are they both contributing about equally? Is there any way to tell? For me at least, I would only find this mod worth doing if i could get a halfway-decent signal with the patch antenna alone. I think I'll try it on my parts 600 and see what happens

based on my observation, its like an antena of mini pci wi-fi who ever get a good signal take care of it alternately or even sim..t..sly. When the unit is open the front area is block by the LCD(signal from the horinzon) and i think the bump antena will be one gathering signal for that. I can't explain properly coz i am still experimenting the total capabilities of it. But so far its much better than the bump antena alone.
